Poetic Prose - Black Diamonds

Black Diamonds

For far too long your cries of pain and misery have blended with the 4 winds cascading and bouncing around a universe that seems to be unfeeling, uncaring and uncompromising when it comes to your plight, while having to fight as the pressures of life interrupt any peace or sleep at night.

By the hands of others your physical has endured more than enough punishment to bring about your demise but still you rise magnificently like the Phoenix with no visible signs of affliction, but I know your scars are engraved deep upon your very being and most times go undetected.

Anyone else would have folded under the circumstances and pressures of lesser degrees and brought many others to their knees, but not you. Most of the time you keep your head up and stay refined amongst the abusive verbal inflections and yet you still shine.

But this piece aint really for you because day in and day out you do what you need to do. Nah, this is for the sistas who have forgotten their importance, their significance in our community; trying to operate without impunity, allowing yourself to be degraded and left open for public scrutiny. Bending over touching ya toes, swinging from golden poles and stripping aint what’s hip and yet to any Tom, Dick and clown you don’t mind giving some crown but they aint no Kings.

Trading away your futures for promised of things that bling but like the Dow Jones your value will continue to depreciate if you try to make a living on those joints connected to your thigh bones. Sista, you aint a dumping ground where stray dicks rest when there’s no one else around

From your essence comes Kingdoms and Kings; civilizations are put into orbit so stop all that whore shit. Yo, let me elevate the way you think so you’ll stop putting so much emphasis on that place where there use to be a hymen. You are the Black Woman, molded and compressed into all that is sacred and divine and you wonder why you’re the most precious gem there is, my beautiful Black Diamond.
